Safety First
If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.
Turn off the Heat Pump and wait 5 minutes before attempting to restart
Listen for the Heat Pump ignitor clicking or glowing when the system calls for heat
Check the Heat Pump gas supply valve is in the fully open position
Inspect the Heat Pump ignitor for visible cracks or damage
Call for Heat Pump service if the ignition does not occur after several attempts
