Safety First
If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.
Check the Heat Pump emergency shut-off switch to ensure it hasn't been bumped off
Verify the Heat Pump circuit breaker hasn't tripped and attempt one reset
Look at the Heat Pump control board for flashing LED error codes
Check if the Heat Pump has a safety lockout that requires manual reset
If the Heat Pump remains shut down, call for emergency service immediately
